German Newspaper That Published Charlie Hebdo Cartoons Firebombed

by JASmius

I guess the "violent extremists" whose name nobody dares utter aren't any more impressed with yesterday's show of global unity in Paris "the capital of the world" than Barack Hussein Obama was:

With security services on high alert after a jihadist killing spree in Paris, police in the northern German port city of Hamburg said no one was at the headquarters of the regional daily Hamburger Morgenpost at the time of the attack, which caused only slight damage.

Hamburg police said it was “too soon” to tell whether there was a connection between the Charlie Hebdo tribute and the firebombing, which would be the first attack against the cartoons since Wednesday’s massacre of twelve people at the French weekly.

“Rocks and then a burning object were thrown through the window,” a police spokesman told AFP.

“Two rooms on lower floors were damaged but the fire was put out quickly.”

The Hamburger Morgenpost, known locally as the MOPO, had splashed the Charlie Hebdo cartoons on its front page after the massacre at the Paris publication with the headline “This much freedom must be possible!”.

Praise the LORD nobody was injured, much less killed, in the, um, Hamburger attack.  And I can kinda-sorta understand why German police say it's "too soon" to tell if there's a Charlie Hebdo connection in their official capacity.  Unofficially, though, can there really be any doubt?  And doesn't this underscore that jihadist attacks are going to continue, in escalating, "machine gun" fashion, no matter how many "global unity marches" are held that Barack Obama snubs?  Indeed, this might actually have been a case of The One actually being the most honest "world leader" in that he doesn't give a rat's ass about jihadism and no longer has any reason to pretend otherwise.

Bottom line is, Islamic Fundamentalists have seen all they believe they need to see to convince them that they're the "strong horse" and, thus, are invincible, their Global Caliphate inevitable, their conquest of the West assured.  And, "global unity marches" not withstanding, there's still no indication from the U.S. or the rest of the West that that conclusion isn't spot-on accurate.

And the price of reversing that conclusion in Muslim minds is guaranteed to be steeper than any American is willing to pay, if the last six years are any indication.
