ISIS Nuclear ‘Dirty Bomb’ Somewhere In Europe

by JASmius

Last week, ISIS claimed to have constructed a radiological bomb.  At the time I opined that they would not be deliberately publicizing this claim on social media if they had not already deployed it in a Western target.

Now Muslim-Al-Britani has expanded their claim in precisely that direction:

An alleged weapons maker for the Islamic State (IS) claimed that a “radioactive device” has been smuggled into an undisclosed location in Europe, according to an intelligence brief released Monday by the SITE Intelligence Group.

“A Radioactive Device has entered somewhere in Europe,” according Twitter user Muslim-Al-Britani, who claims to be a freelance jihadist weapons maker now working alongside IS (also known as ISIL or ISIS), according to tweets captured and disseminated by SITE.

Maybe he's yanking everybody's chain, maybe he isn't.  Maybe he's getting his kicks by making an empty claim and watching Western governments run around like decapitated chickens (although in the Age of The One, it's gotten exceedingly difficult to find a Western country that takes terrorism seriously anymore).  But as I said last week, I don't see how the Islamic State is helped by making such claims unless they can back them up.  So I have to conclude that al-Britani (whose latest tweet is, after all, a sequel to the first, and if he was freelancing I would think that "Caliph" al-Baghdadi would have cut him off) is on the level, that ISIS (which has had six months to do this, remember) has deployed a radiological device, and that the only questions are where it is and when they're going to set it off.

Looks like Rudolph's nose isn't the only thing that'll be glowing this Christmas..

Exit thought: There's always the possibility that the deception is that the dirty bomb claim is a feint, and the real attack will occur someplace else entirely.  Manhattan, perhaps?  Says Michael Rubin:

“Perhaps it’s also time to recognize that open borders and successful counter-terrorism are mutually exclusive,” he said. “It’s a lesson that might fly in the face of Obama’s ideology, but reality will always trump political spin.”

Not in this White House, pal.  Not by a long shot.
