EU Court Rules Hamas Should Be Taken Off Terrorist List

by JASmius

Oh, I can't wait to hear the tortured, dhimmist explanation for this one:

The EU General Court in Luxembourg, in what was described as a procedural ruling, said that the bloc’s decision to place Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, on the list of terrorist groups wasn’t sufficiently thorough and was based “on factual imputations derived from the press and Internet.”

"Factual imputations from the press and the Internet"?  You mean "insufficiently thorough" ones like these?

Doesn't seem all that "insufficiently thorough" to me.

Reactions to this insanity unfolded predictably.  First, the Israelis (whom you'd think would be used to getting shafted by the Euros by now):

Israel reacted with anger to the decision, seeing it as the latest in a series of European diplomatic moves the country views as favorable to the Palestinian cause. The ruling came on the same day that the EU Parliament voted to back “in principle recognition of Palestinian statehood,” though failing short of a setting a deadline demanded by some lawmakers.

“We are not satisfied by the explanation offered by the Europeans that the removal of Hamas from the list of terrorist organizations is due to a procedural issue,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in an e-mailed statement. “The burden of proof is on the European Union and we expect them to immediately return Hamas to the list that everyone knows it belongs on,” he said.

.....and the Pals, who are undoubtedly used to being fellated by the Euros, but strangely never get tired of it:

Removing Hamas from the terrorism blacklist is a victory for the Palestinian people,” Musa Abu Marzouk, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza, said in an e-mail. “Hamas calls on all those who put us on this list to correct their stance, because doing so has always been unfair.” [emphasis added]

Quite obviously Hamas, and the European Union, define "terrorism" very differently from, well, sane human beings.

But why shouldn't Mr. Marzouk utter such skewed, cynical doggerel?  That and an unending rain of rockets and missiles into Israeli population centers is getting the Pals pretty much everything they want: economic aid (freeing them up to plot fresh anti-Semitic atrocities), diplomatic recognition, international acceptance and sympathy, and bulldozing the Jewish State ever closer to the finishing of Adolph Hitler's "final solution".  And considering the extent to which Muslims are overrunning Europe, the E.U. may not be far behind.

It would be poetic justice, if not for what it portends for the rest of what's left of Western civilization.
