Islamic State and Al Qaeda Join Forces

By Douglas V. Gibbs

It's official.  ISIS and al Qaeda have decided to stop fighting each other, and work together to kill the infidel.

Those that refuse to admit Islam is working towards a unified caliphate proclaim that we should just leave the Middle East alone, and let the Sunnis and the Shiites go at it until they kill each other off.  The problem is, their hate for the West exceeds their hate for each other.  Today, we are seeing rival terrorist groups joining forces.  Next, Islam as a whole will decide to turn on the West.  We can't trust the Sunnis, we can't trust the Shiites, and we can't trust the Kurds.  All of them hate Christians, hate Israel, and desire a worldwide Islamic caliphate.

The agreement between the two Islamic terror organizations occurred in a farm house in northern Syria.  While Obama's administration works to arm rebel factions, the rebel factions are working with the enemy we are trying to disable.  The White House says there is such thing as "moderate" Muslims, but the truth is, as former Muslim after former Muslim says, all followers of the false prophet Muhammad are potential terrorists.  And now, as expected, the two largest Islamic terror organizations in the region are working together. Why?  Because they are both Islamic, and they hate all non-Muslims.

The Nusra Front, al Qaeda's team in Syria, has been fighting the brutal and barbaric Islamic State, and has finally come to the conclusion, "If you can't beat them, join them."

We saw the union of terror coming because of the emergence of local truces over the last month.

The cooperation is limited, and all rival groups have not signed on. . . yet.  U.S. officials hope the agreements will unravel, and that the different groups will go back to fighting each other, believing that their hatred for each other outweighs their hatred for non-Muslims.

This is about Islam, not turf.  The American officials are wrong.  And as more groups sign on, and more Muslim countries realize where the balance of power in the Middle East is swinging, Muslim countries losing their troops to desertions to ISIS and al Qaeda will increase, and the governments that have any kind of agreement with the United States will collapse.

The union of ISIS and al Qaeda have agreed to target Kurdish fighters, who have been willing to fight against ISIS.  For the Kurds, much of their fight is over turf, but that will change once their position becomes one of defense, retreat, and the reality of defeat.  They will turn against the Christians and Jews, too, once they are given the chance.

Syrian President Assad, a ruthless dictator the Obama administration has targeted for removal, has been one of the few forces capable of keeping the Islamists at bay.  By arming the rebels against Assad, the Obama administration has fueled the efforts of ISIS and al Qaeda, and has been arming the true enemy.  Now, as the Assad regime faces eventual ouster caused by the new Islamist union, the rise of greater chaos, and a drive for a ruthless, jihadist supported, caliphate, is on the horizon.

If there are any American backed rebels not aligned with the Islamists, they will also be a prominent target, along with the Assad regime.
