Democrats Slam Pelosi In Campaign Ads

by JASmius

Yeah, they're doing it now; but we all know damn good and well that when January rolls around, she'll still be House Minority Leader.

But for now, let's enjoy the show:

Democrats caught in tight midterm races are distancing themselves from U.S. Representative Nancy Pelosi, a former House speaker whose polarizing dominance is seem by some as part of the problem for Congress's gridlock, the Hill reported.

Some candidates are even calling her out by name in ads, including Pelosi's Democratic House colleague John Barrow, in a race for Georgia's 12th District, the Hill said.

"I voted 54% of the time with Speaker [John] Boehner [R-OH8] … and I voted against Nancy Pelosi for speaker," Barrow tells constituents in an ad spot that pushes back on the partisan influence of the House minority leader.

Well, yeah, I guess.  There aren't many Blue Dogs left nowadays, and this is typically how they survive in blinding "red" areas of the country.  Barrow's spiel is pretty much boilerplate.

But here's a novel approach:

In Colorado, yet another congressional candidate, Democrat Irv Halter, who is running against four-term incumbent [Republican] Doug Lamborn, has invoked Pelosi's name in a television spot that says even he hopes to distance himself from Washington's do-nothing, partisan malaise, the Hill said.

Dems are really and truly slamming Crazy Nancy if they're portraying her as a de facto Republican.  Almost as if she's become their scarecrow as she has been the GOP's for over a decade.

Maybe it'll work for them, maybe it won't.  But ask yourself this question: Who's lining up in the House Democrat caucus to take her place?  When we start hearing people like Steny Hoyer and James Clyburn jump on the ass pile, then we can start taking potential "coup" attempts seriously.  Until then, it's like Playboy centerfolds: all fantasy, no reality.

But still fun, though....
