ISIS Taking Aim At U.S. Electrical Grid

by JASmius

The Secure the Grid Coalition convened a panel to examine the danger and possibility that the Islamic State, either directly or through proxies like the Knights Templar drug cartel, or other enemies of the United States – could inflict existential damage upon this country by attacking its vulnerable electric grid.

Kelly Carlson discussing (via Skype) U.S. grid vulnerability along the southern border. This was taped at the National Press Club on September 3, 2014.

A "failed state" is generally defined by the following characteristics:

  • Loss of control of its territory, or of the monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force therein
  • Erosion of legitimate authority to make collective decisions
  • Inability to provide public services
  • Inability to interact with other states as a full member of the international community

  • Looks to me like the United Soviet Socialist States of Obamerikastan is just about there.  Just one more good, solid shove away, for which the international line to provide it is growing exponentially.  Who says the Obamidency isn't "historic"?  After all, history doesn't have to keep the lights on.
