Ex-State Department Official: Damaging Benghazi Documents Removed

by JASmius

<sigh>  O really is daring House Republicans to go for impeachment, isn't he?:

A former State Department official says he witnessed departmental employees separating out damaging documents on the Benghazi investigation before handing them over to the Accountability Review Board, the Daily Signal reports.

Investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson says the man, former Deputy Assistant [Commissar} Raymond Maxwell, told her he saw the actions take place in a basement room at the State [Commissariat] over a weekend.

Maxwell headed the State [Commissariat]'s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs at the time and was in charge of collecting emails and documents related to the probe of the attack on the Benghazi diplomatic facility on September 11th, 2012.

"I was not invited to that after-hours endeavor, but I heard about it and decided to check it out on a Sunday afternoon," Maxwell told Attkisson.

Once there, he said he saw stacks and boxes of documents. He saw one person who directly worked for him there, though he had not been advised of her extra duties.

"She told me, 'Ray, we are to go through these stacks and pull out anything that might put anybody in the [Near Eastern Affairs] front office or the seventh floor in a bad light,'" Maxwell told Attkisson. "Seventh floor" referred to then-[Commissar] of State Hillary Clinton and her advisers.

Maxwell said he suggested that was unethical, to which the woman replied, "Ray, those are our orders."

<Shaking head>  You know, you can't really describe this as a cover-up, because cover-ups typically take place in secret.  In cover-ups, the idea is that you try to keep people from finding out what you did and what you're doing.  And therein lies the irony; the Obama Regime is, to coin a phrase, transparent only about their opacity.  They do terrible things in secret, blatantly lie about them, but go out of their contemptuous way to make sure everybody knows they're hiding things.  And I'm not even sure how much of it is self-conceived "royal prerogative," that they don't think "We, The People" have any business wanting to know all their criminal activities, and how much of it is sheer sadistic ultra-partisan sport, openly pissing in the faces of House Republicans in classic "Catch me, catch me, catch me if you can; but you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!" fashion.  It's why Darrell Issa has the most thankless job in Washington, D.C.  And now (finally) Trey Gowdy is about to take his turn in that same barrel.

The punchline here is that Mr. Maxwell was "uncomfortable" with this pre-emptive destruction of evidence of the Regime's accessorizing the jihadist attack on the Benghazi consulate, and he and a handful of other squeamish Foggy Bottom denizens were disciplined and ultimately smeared for refusing to "get with the program".

It's nothing new, it's nothing surprising, but what is amazing is how breathtaking the vile loathsomeness of Barack Obama and every like-minded,  Kool-Aided zombie of his continues to be.  I have no idea why God seems to be delaying the day of reckoning of this idolatrous panzy-tyrant, but it will come sooner or later, and when it does....well, I can only pray that the rest of us won't be collateral damage.
