Platoon Mate On Bowe Bergdahl's Return To Duty: "We Don't Get It"

by JASmius

Oh, you didn't know that BB has been "re-loaded" onto active duty?  Evidently his "buddies" are having a great deal of understandable difficulty fathoming it as well:

Army "Sergeant" Bowe Bergdahl returned to active duty at a Texas Army base, and former Army Sergeant Matt Vierkant, one of his former platoon mates, says he doesn't understand why the military made the decision to allow it.

"It's really confusing and perplexing to me, with the several different allegations against him," Vierkant told J.D. Hayworth and John Bachman on "America's Forum" on Newsmax TV on Tuesday.

Are you sure you want to hear the answer, Sergeant?  Or that you haven't already deduced it yourself?

"We know that he deserted," he said. "So I don’t really see with all the evidence against him . . . how they can just send him back to active duty like nothing's gone on and give him a desk job, like they said, and just let him walk around in the public after he deserted and left us, left his brothers-in-arms."

You're getting really warm.....

Even though Bergdahl has been put on active duty for now, Vierkant said that he does "have faith in the military that they will do what's right."

Forget about it.

Since your faith is so grievously misplaced, Sergeant, I'll cut to the chase: "Sergeant" Bergdahl has been returned to active duty behind a desk for several reasons:

1) As a reward for a job well done.  As we know by now, Bowe Bergdahl came from a leftist/jihadi-symp family, indoctrinated in that treasonous, heretical bilge.  He was a deserter waiting to happen, and a traitor as well.  When he defected from his unit in Afghanistan within two weeks of his deployment there, the Obama Regime had a ready-made tool and asset for emptying a significant part of Gitmo - which O has always wanted to do but never felt like he had the PR cover for it - fall right into his scrawny lap.  Bergdahl "stayed alive" in Taliban "captivity" by collaborating with them.  The White House knows this, but he was their ace in the hole for when, at the very least, they needed a PR distraction besides the next Regime scandal.  When the VA scandal broke wide open, they played his card.

2) His usefulness isn't necessarily at its end.  Remember, Bowe Bergdahl is the face of the New American Military.  Desertion and treason (and sexual perversion) are the new "serving with honor and distinction".  I think big things are in Bowe Bergdahl's future.  Rapid promotion up the ranks - are you ready for General Bergdahl? - followed by a step-off into a similarly meteoric political career - Senator Berghahl, perhaps, complete with keffiyeh and his dad's scruffy-assed, quasi-Amish beard.  Texas will be "blue" enough for him by then, although his being a white male will be a significant handicap.  And if all else fails, he's a ready-made scapegoat and Obama bus-wheel fodder.

3) The "Bergdahl Effect".  The U.S. military, to the degree it has not been gutted, is already being "fundamentally transformed" into a magnet for every manner and brand of sexual debauchery, all in the ubiquitously mendatious name of "tolerance".  The lionization of Bowe Bergdahl represents the extension of that celebration to dishonor, perfidy, and treachery as well.  Every single last facet and value of what made the U.S. military the greatest and most fearsome fighting force on the planet is being systematically dismantled.  How many traditional, patriotic American servicepeople (of those who are still sticking it out) - like (please note) former Sergeant Vierkant - will want to remain serving their country when its "leaders" extol dirty, rotten, filthy quislings who betray their comrades?

You see, Sergeant, you can't have faith in the military that they will do what's right, because it's Barack Hussein Obama's "fundamentally transformed" military.  And there is no longer any room in it for those who really have served their country "with honor and distinction".

But there is room in the next foxhole to go down on your CO, if you ever go sufficiently insane to re-enlist.
