Obama Team Calls Russian Aggression "Unprofessional"

By Douglas V. Gibbs

The aggression of Russian President Putin is going unchecked, and a part of the reason is because Putin understands that the Obama administration truly does not know what it is doing, and is looking at the situation through a premise that is so far from proper, which is making the whole situation in the eyes of the Russians downright laughable.

Remember, the position of the liberal left is from a point of view of narcissism, and the belief that now that they have the White House they have somehow become the dominant line of thinking in the world, and all minds now think like them.

Ignorance and naivete comes to mind, as well.

When Russia annexed Crimea, John Kerry's response was nearly comical.  "You just don't invade another country on phony pretext in order to assert your interests," John Kerry said. "This is an act of aggression that is completely trumped up in terms of its pretext. It's really 19th century behavior in the 21st century."

He is right. . . . if we lived in a perfect world.  But bad guys don't think that way.  They don't stop and go, "Hmmmmm, is this acceptable behavior in this day and age?"

Putin knows the idiocy he faces when it comes to the Obama White House, and the utopianists that Barry has surrounded himself with, and the Russian President is continuing to do as he pleases. . . even mocking the United States, and provoking the U.S. Military, with the full understanding that the only response will be, "Hey, buddy, you are not supposed to do that.  We are civilized people now, since Obama is in office, and we got rid of the cowboy."

Russia has planted separatist fervor inside Ukraine, creating the same thing they did in Crimea. . . unrest, and an eruption of protesters calling for Russian intervention.  To try to save eastern Ukraine from abandoning the country for Russia, the Ukrainian government is relaxing control, and allowing local regional rights.

They are allowing the eastern section of Ukraine to position itself the same way South Ossetia did, and Crimea did, before Russia moved in and annexed those former Soviet possessions.

Obama's idiots in Washington has also advised Kiev to devolve powers in order to remove any argument Moscow might make about discrimination against Russian speakers -- a charge that has fed fears of a further invasion following the Kremlin's annexation of Crimea last month.

The invasion by Russia, however, has already begun.  Russian troops are not marching through cities in eastern Ukraine, but armed pro-Russia local militia are.

Fear is rising that the armed militias, surely with professional soldiers in their ranks, setting up checkpoints, barricading buildings, and seizing two police stations and an intelligence headquarters in eastern Ukraine, could be a prelude to a full-scale invasion by Russian troops.

Meanwhile, in an act of provocation against the U.S. Military, a Russian fighter jet has buzzed the USS Donald Cook, an American destroyer, doing so in the Black Sea for more than 90 minutes, as if daring the U.S. military to flinch.

"This provocative and unprofessional Russian action is inconsistent with international protocols and previous agreements on the professional interaction between our militaries," said Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman.

"Unprofessional?"  You mean like eating a salad with the wrong fork?

It is as if the Pentagon has come down with the same disease infecting Kerry regarding his 19th century behavior remark.

When you show weakness, that is the kind of thing that bad guys do.  You show weakness and they will begin to taunt, because they know they can get away with it.

Hence, Reagan's famous remark, "We maintain the peace through our strength; weakness only invites aggression."
