Bigger Than Bundy: Standoff Sets A Precedent Against Americans

by JASmius

"Little baby steps," indeed.

This whole episode illustrates the rank foolishness with which the Bureau of Land Management handled its end of things.  The last thing the Obama Regime needs is to make its tyrannical impulses so garishly and publicly obvious.  Forget surrounding his property with an army of paramilitary law enforcement personnel, complete with snipers, stealing his cattle, tasering his son - all that accomplished was to rally a tidal wave of public support for Clive Bundy.  Keep it in the courts, where the BLM can bleed Bundy dry until he has to sell his ranch - perhaps to those "corporate interests" that are doubtless also big Democrat contributors.

The question now is whether the feds have to put off a climatic Tiananmen Square-style crackdown against the Tea Party to let the memory of the Battle of Bundy Hill fade in the public consciousness, or if the White House decides that it's too late, the cat is out of the bag, and they might as well bulldoze straight ahead.  Given that they've only got two and a half years left to work with at most, the latter option is looking increasingly likely.
